Here’s a look at our featured player this week:
Minjee Lee, Australia
Currently 18th in the world, the 20-year-old three-time winner on the Ladies European Tour has taken lessons from her hero and US Open champion Michelle Wie. She’s also got an impressive gallery of fellow pros following her all over the world and was even selected to play the Australian Women’s Open, which starts on Thursday.
As an amateur Lee was the youngest player to qualify for the US Open two years ago. Although she didn’t win that prestigious event, she finished third in an international field at a short version of the British Open and finished as runner-up in a major regional event that she played before the senior.
Despite the controversies around the Saudi Ladies International this week, in fact, the event is running as scheduled and the women will even conduct practice on Monday, which means Lee will be in the field.
Oh, and as for her favorite architect, it’s Frank Gehry.
