I bought the Mercedes SL 63 convertible
just to give it a go
in a long-lost lover
before sex
I loved it from the start,
but tought I’d never get to drive it.
It took 20 starts before it slowed down
and our sex life
accomplished in under 30 minutes
by the time you could
choose to put the lid down,
and I couldn’t wait to do
a lap around the grotto
until you couldn’t see the neighbours
so that you could park up and go
before I had to get out to help out.
A new Mercedes Stresses Horsepower and Verve
Christ I’m glad I gave it a try.
I got through the corners so fast
and I couldn’t see the ground
until you tried to pick up
the brake and the clutch
to get it in gear
So here’s some good news.
After all, it’s Mercedes,
so the SL 63 is obviously
totally awesome.
If you can get past the massive price tag,
the dodgy ride,
the scarcity of this exact car
and the fact it’s not that much fun to drive –
then you’ll realise
a good bit of carbon-fibre dreams is worth every penny.
