Iceland went ahead when Christina Jaemi shot past Anna-Zette Ambulandian in the 19th minute but Armenia levelled just before half-time when Tashchuk was shown a straight red card for a foul on Pahkala.
Armenia also grabbed a winner through the penalty in the 80th minute after Lavra Aslamzade was fouled by Anastasia Eldarbo.
